About
Meet Sue (a.k.a. Rachelle)
Hi there! I’m Rachelle — though everyone calls me Sue. (and yes, there’s a story behind that 😉).
I’m a proud wife, mom, grandma, and newly retired woman. I am learning to love this next chapter of life after 60.

My Life
I retired from Walmart in June 2023 after 24 years of hard work. That same month, my husband and I celebrated 35 years of marriage. Together, we raised four amazing kids (plus my younger sister). Today we’re blessed with five grandkids, ages 6 to 15.
I’ve worked since I was 13 years old, and I’ve learned more from life than any textbook could ever teach. I didn’t go to college, but I did take some accounting classes. Everything else came from experience, persistence, and a lot of faith.
Back in the 1980s, I even broke a few barriers and became the first female bread-truck driver for a local delivery company. Not bad for a small-town girl with big determination.

Real-Life Experience Over a College Degree
My path hasn’t been traditional, but it’s been rich with life lessons, love, and resilience.
I’m proud of my blue-collar roots and the hard work that shaped who I am today. I believe real-world experience can teach you more about people, perseverance, and purpose than any classroom ever could.
Retirement Today
Now, I’m embracing a slower, more intentional pace. Focus on family, faith, travel, and financial wellness.
Through this blog, I share the real-life ups and downs of retirement. We’ll cover downsizing and budgeting and rediscovering what makes life joyful and fulfilling after 60.
If you’re navigating retirement with a mix of humor, heart, and maybe a hot cup of coffee — you’re in the right place.
